Calle Halfvarsson can look back on a successful New Year.

Yesterday he finished sixth in the mass start over 15 km, his first top 10 placement since the 2019-20 season.

Five in the final

And he did not have to wait long for the next one.

Today, in the classic sprint in Oberstdorf, it was a fifth place, his first final place in the sprint since Seefeld in January 2018, when he finished third.

But it was on the hair.

In the semifinals, Halfvarsson was last for almost the entire race, but after a strong finish, he finished fourth, and reached the final with only a two hundredths margin.

Kläbo won

Also in the final he was last in the beginning, but after a nice curve just over halfway into the race he went up to third place, but after a weak run straight he finished fifth.

He is now eight in the Tour summary.

The winner was, as expected, the Norwegian sprint dominant Johannes Hösflot Kläbo.

By the way, there were four Norwegians in the top.

Behind Kläbo we found Erik Valnes, Pål Golberg and Even Northug.
