Jon has announced that he wants to leave MFF and after discussions we have by consensus decided to divorce.
It's sad of course.
It has really been a success story and we have had a great collaboration all the time, says Malmö's sports director Daniel Andersson in a statement on the club's website.
Jon Dahl Tomasson came to Malmö FF before the 2020 season. During his two seasons at the club, he has led Malmö to two Swedish Championship golds and group games in the Champions League this season.
Now he chooses to leave after two successful years.
- It was a difficult decision to say goodbye but at the same time a good feeling.
Because I feel that I end up at the top with Malmö FF, says Tomasson.
- I am humble, grateful and proud to have been a coach in one of the biggest clubs in Scandinavia.
And proud that during these two years we have written new beautiful chapters in the club's history books.
