[Explanation] Recently, the reporter came to Lamao Village, Angla Township, Jianzha County, Huangnan Prefecture, Qinghai Province to visit the local cold-water fish farming industry.

The economic benefits of cold-water fish farming have obvious advantages compared with traditional yak farming and vegetable cultivation in the local area.

Jianzha County has nearly 48,000 mu of high-quality cold-water waters, which has an advantageous location for the development of cold-water aquaculture.

At present, Jianzha County has 6 deep-water breeding farms, and the annual output in 2020 has reached 1,000 tons.

[Explanation] United Fisheries is the largest cold-water fish farming company in the area.

At present, 13 net cages with a circumference of 100 meters have been placed in the leased waters. Each cage can breed 22,000-25,000 fish, and now 20,000 fish are actually stocked.

There are 31 small cages, and a total of 8 9*9m cages. Fish fry are stocked according to the size and specifications of the fish, with an average of 6 kg of fish per cubic meter.

Between November and December, the rainy season is gone at this time. The water quality here is very good. By this time it is the best season for fry.

[Explanation] After the salmon and trout are caught, they are directly sent to Beishangguang and other places after rough processing.

From fishing to rough processing, it takes no more than 24 hours to transport to various places to serve on the table.

Because salmonids have very high requirements for survival water quality, they cannot survive even if they are slightly polluted.

Five grams to eighty grams (fish) is the most difficult to keep, because it requires high water quality.

The main reason is that in the past few years, we have floods in Qinghai for three consecutive years in the rainy season from 18 to 20. (impurities in the water) easily block the respiratory tract of fish gills, and (fish) will choke to death when the water is muddy.

[Explanation] In the past two years, the climate has warmed and the amount of precipitation and floods have increased. While the aquaculture cages have been washed away, the water quality and the sediment content have increased, and a large number of farmed fish have died, which has caused a certain impact on the local cold-water fish farming enterprises. .

In response to this situation, Jianzha County, while developing deep-water aquaculture cages, has gradually developed land-based aquaculture technology and established land-based aquaculture facilities.

After several years of small-scale experiments, it has been found that when fish are raised from five grams to four hundred grams on land, and then placed in deep-water cages, even in floods, the mortality rate of (fish) will be greatly reduced. .

This is because since 2017, when the flood came, the mortality rate of fish fry of about five grams was more than 90%, almost completely wiped out.

[Explanation] In the next few years, the local area will continue to pay attention to supporting cold-water fish farming, and take various practical measures to solve the problems in aquaculture, and at the same time drive the income of local people.

Our next plan is to support (cold water fish farming) and support some processing enterprises, because this aspect is still relatively lacking.
