When the transfer window opens in Spain on Monday 3 January, Ferran Torres will be introduced as a new player in Barcelona.

The club confirms the signing of the player, which they chased for some time.

The 21-year-old leaves Manchester City after a season and a half with the Premier League team.

Recently, Ferran Torres has had a difficult time in Manchester City, partly due to injury problems.

The transfer itself costs 55 million euros, according to sources in Spain and England.

The contract is valid until 2027, but inscribed in it is a clause that says that the star can be bought out for his contract - for 1 billion euros, 10 billion Swedish kronor, Barcelona states on its website.

Ferran Torres has played 22 international matches for Spain and scored 12 goals.

He began his career in Valencia, where he played until his transfer to Manchester City last year.
