Due to the delay in the supply of household water heaters due to the effects of the new coronavirus, the water heaters installed in the athletes' villages of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will be rented out.

Approximately 1,400 units will be rented free of charge to households that need to be replaced due to a breakdown.

Regarding household water heaters, the supply of products has been delayed since early September due to the spread of infection with the new corona, which made it difficult to procure some electronic components from Southeast Asia.

Under these circumstances, with the help of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, on the 27th, the gas and water heater industry groups jointly requested the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to rent out the water heater installed in the Olympic Village. ..

It is expected that a formal agreement will be reached in the future, and of the 3,800 units installed in the Olympic Village, approximately 1,400 units, which are not used in condominiums for sale, will be replaced by households that need to be replaced due to a breakdown, excluding construction costs. It is provided free of charge.

The water heater to be rented is to be rented until an employee of a gas company affiliated with the Japan Gas Association installs it at home and a new product is supplied.
