Coventry United close: "It's heartbreaking"

Overnight, Göteborg FC closed down last year.

Now the Championship team Coventry United has announced that together with the board they have decided on voluntary liquidation - halfway through their first professional season.

"We can not go into detail at this time, but we have asked for help to place the club in voluntary liquidation," it says in a press release.

"It's heartbreaking"

Olivia Clark has been the goalkeeper in the second jumbo for the past two seasons.

"I do not know what to say.

Getting to work and finding out that you no longer have the job you dreamed of is heartbreaking ", she writes on her Twitter.

On Twitter, national team defender and Manchester City player Alex Greenwood expresses his support.

"The sacrifices that the girls make to become professional football players - to then be told halfway through a season that you no longer have a job, or a club, it is simply not acceptable," she writes.
