Belmadi calls Ibrahimi to the Algeria squad
Algeria national football team coach Djamel Belmadi announced on Friday the "Desert Warriors" squad that will compete in the African Nations Cup in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6.
The 28-man squad witnessed the return of Qatari Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa players Yassin Ibrahimi and Mahdi Taherat, who contributed to Algeria's victory in the Arab Football Cup in Doha on December 18.
Belmadi's list also included his striking strength, Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani (Lyon, France), Rami bin Sabaini (Borussia Monchengladbach, Germany), and Qatari Al Sadd player Baghdad Bounedjah, and others.
The Algerian national team was placed in Group E, along with Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Sierra Leone.
