The former head of the Sports Arbitration Committee in the Football Association, Legal Counsel, Dr. Youssef Al-Sharif, suggested that “in light of the decline in the level of the national team during its recent participation, the basic monthly salary of the player in the ADNOC Professional League should not exceed 10 thousand dirhams, provided that it rises with incentives instead of Training, transportation, and risk transfers to a large number equal to what the player achieves.”

Al-Sharif said that this value is very appropriate, stressing at the same time the importance of dealing with players with the incentive system, including scoring goals and good performance, so that his monthly salary with incentives reaches between 70,000 and 100,000 dirhams.

He confirmed to "Emirates Today" that his proposal is based on the level presented by the players, "because there is no financial return in the clubs that covers the cost of the large sums that are currently being paid to them."

He added, "I was hoping that, in light of the recent data that resulted in the team's results, a restructuring of the players' salaries in the UAE league would take place to match the returns provided by the players."

The recent period witnessed several demands in the sports community to reduce the salaries of players, against the background of the decline in the technical level of the national teams, especially the first national team during its recent participation in the Arab Cup 2021, as well as the exit of the teams of the Sunni stages from their multiple foreign participations, in addition to the modest results of the clubs participating in the tournament. Asian Champions League.

Al-Sharif submitted a proposal, which he called “a new policy to the administrations of Emirati football clubs”, hoping that the Football Association will obligate its clubs and support a sovereign decision to organize the football game and the work of the clubs.

Al-Sharif wondered whether football clubs hold general assemblies, pointing out that in fact these clubs do not hold general assemblies, and this is a violation of the companies law, as they are limited liability companies.

On the other hand, Al-Sharif attributed the decline in cases of disciplinary penalties in the UAE league, to what he called the occurrence of a kind of discipline by the players, noting that the recent period has not happened in the local league, something that attracts attention, or even the audience resents it, describing this as a good thing. Pointing out that it is possible that there is nothing that excites the audience in the stands, especially with the lack of audience due to "Covid-19", and he said that this could be another reason.

Regarding the decline in cases of disputes between clubs in football on the one hand, and between players and coaches on the other hand, Al-Sharif stressed that this matter is also less compared to what was the case in the past period, due to the occurrence of a kind of awareness by the players.

Regarding the details of the proposal presented by Al-Sharif, he referred to a basic salary that does not exceed 10,000 dirhams, a training allowance (10,000 dirhams), a risk allowance (5,000 dirhams), and the same as a transportation allowance, while he said that each team member deserves 1,000 dirhams for each goal. scored, and any dangerous attack (500 dirhams), 1500 dirhams if translated into a goal, 1000 dirhams for each goalkeeper in the event of a dangerous attack, and 500 dirhams deducted from each player who receives a yellow card, and 1000 dirhams for each red card. The team and the technical staff 5,000 dirhams per person in the event of victory, and 2,000 dirhams for a tie, indicating that this salary with incentives may reach 100,000 dirhams per month, as it will be coupled with performance.

• The proposal submitted by Youssef Al Sharif may bring the players' salaries to 100,000 dirhams, depending on the results they achieve.
