The success at the Olympics in Sochi 2014 put many smiles on the Swedish lips.

There, the blue-yellow heroes collected a total of 15 medals - which today stands as the Swedish medal record in an Olympic game.

But at the Beijing Olympics, which will be inaugurated on February 4, Sweden will beat that feat - with flying colors - according to the statistics company Gracenote.

According to their forecast, Sweden is expected to take a total of 21 medals, of which seven gold, seven silver and as many bronze.

This is an increase of four medals since Gracenote's last compilation was made in November.

The ladies are expected to continue to account for most of the harvest.

The change since the November forecast is primarily that Linn Svahn's double bronze in the sprint and 10 kilometer classic will be removed.

She is injured and misses the Olympics.

Instead, it is added that Sebastian Samuelsson is expected to take a silver in the sprint and Frida Karlsson the same denomination in the classic mile.

In addition, Hanna Öberg is tipped to take bronze in the 7.5 kilometer sprint and Maja Dahlqvist sails up as the favorite to win the ladies' sprint, freestyle.

From gold to silver

Sundling, who was pulled with an injury, accounted for a successful comeback in Dresden and finished second in the sprint behind Dahlqvist.

Sundling was first tipped to take gold in the women's Olympic sprint, but Dahlqvist's progress during the start of the season means that she is poked down to a silver.

Before each Olympics since 2010, Gracenote has compiled a virtual medal league where the forecast is based, among other things, on results in previous Olympics, World Cups and World Cups.

Norway, which was most successful in 2018, is again tipped to dominate in the Olympics.

21 gold (decrease by one medal since the forecast in November) and a total of 45 medals (increase by one medal) are Norway's expected results
