The Liverpool team completed the contract for the semi-finalists of the League of Professional Football Clubs, after its marathon victory 5-4 on penalties against its guest, Leicester City, today, Wednesday, in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Chelsea and Tottenham also qualified for the same round of the tournament, after beating Brentford and West Ham United, respectively, earlier today.
At Anfield, the original time of the match ended in a 3-3 draw, as Leicester advanced with two early goals through star Jimmy Vardy in the 9th and 13th minutes, before Liverpool reduced the difference with a goal through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (19).

James Madison added the third goal for Leicester (33), but the Portuguese Diogo Jota scored the second goal for Liverpool (68), so that the hosts tried to equalize during the remaining time, until they achieved what they wanted, as the Japanese Takumi Minamino scored a fatal goal in the fifth minute of the time. Al-Muhtasib instead of lost for the second half, so that the two teams ruled for the penalty shootout, which finally smiled in favor of Liverpool.
It is noteworthy that the two teams will meet again next Tuesday at King Power Stadium, the stronghold of Leicester in the Premier League.
Chelsea climbed to the golden box of the championship after beating its host Brentford, with two clean goals, the first of which was scored by Swede Pontus Jansson, Brentford defender, by an own goal (80), while Jorginho added the second goal for the blue team (85
penalty kick).
At White Hart Lane, Tottenham also reached the semi-finals, after their exciting 2-1 victory over West Ham in the London summit.
Tottenham Hotspur scored through Dutchman Stephen Bergwijn (29), but Jarrod Bowen scored the equalizer for West Ham (32).

The guests did not congratulate the equalizer much, after the Brazilian Lucas Moura returned the lead to the host team by scoring the second goal for Tottenham (34).

It is noteworthy that Arsenal were the first to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament, after their big 5-1 victory over Sunderland.
The semi-final draw resulted in a confrontation between Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea against Tottenham.
