- I am so happy to keep my crystal trophy and still be the overall winner of the cup.

It was most fair to hand out two trophies and I am also very happy for Tora's sake.

It had not been the same for Tora to win the cup seven years later and she was never allowed to enjoy the benefits it would bring then, Mäkäräinen tells IBU.

Both are touchingly in agreement on the decision that gives two winners.

- It's a fair decision for both of us.

It would not have felt good for me if Kaisa had been allowed to return the crystal trophy, says Berger.

"Tora deserves the title"

On Friday, the International Biathlon Federation, IBU, announced that Tora Berger would be awarded the victory in the overall cup 2013-14 after the Russian Olga Zaitseva had points deleted due to doping.

It left a crushed Kaisa Mäkäräinen who for seven years was the winner of the cup that year.

- Now we have ended up in a situation that is not very pleasant.

The one who won the overall cup will be second, and the one who came second will be first.

Both have really done nothing wrong.

But it is clear that Tora, with these events in mind, deserves the title.

But we really know Kaisa, after all this time, Felix Bitterling, sports director at IBU, told SVT Sport last Friday.

But at a board meeting today, the IBU decided that the title would be shared because it is impossible to know in retrospect how the main competitors would have acted if they had the right conditions in place.
