Some cross-country skiers who have been nominated for the Beijing Paralympic Games next year, such as Yoshihiro Nitta, who has won three gold medals at the Winter Paralympics in the past, will have an impact on training during the waiting period after returning to Japan. In consideration of this, we have decided not to participate in the January World Championship, which is the outpost of the Paralympics.

This was announced on the 16th by the Japan Ski Federation for the Disabled.

According to it, four players in the cross-country skiing class, such as Nitta and Taiki Kawayoke, who won the gold medal at the 2019 World Championship, will be nominated for the Beijing Paralympic Games next year. Instead of dispatching to the Paralympic World Championships in Norway in January, we will have a training camp in the country to prepare for the Beijing tournament.

The World Paralympics Championship will be the "Outpost" of the Beijing Paralympics in March, with Nordic cross-country skiing and biathlon, alpine and snowboat competitions.

The chief of the federation said, "The competition to strengthen physical strength by sliding over a long distance of more than 20 km every day," explained the reason why the tournament was not sent to the valuable actual battlefield while the competition was decreasing due to the influence of the new coronavirus. Due to the characteristics of the company, if training is restricted during the waiting period after the overseas expedition, it will not be possible to maintain running ability. "

Meanwhile, other athletes who have been nominated to represent the Beijing Paralympics, such as those in the sitting and sliding class, will participate in the world championships.
