Major General "M" Abdullah Al-Sayed Al-Hashemi, with a score of 43 points, won the title of the "December" round in the monthly national medal championship, organized by the Golf Federation under the auspices of Mashreq Bank, and hosted the day before yesterday by the Abu Dhabi Club, and is the second round in the championship agenda for the 2021-2022 season. A record participation of national team players was recorded, amounting to 50 male and female players out of 79 players who competed for the titles of their five categories.

A press statement said: "The tour witnessed an active participation of members of the Golf Federation Council, led by Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the UAE and Arab Federations, along with the members of the Federation, and the competitions were recorded. His best rounds in years, and taking first place in this category, with a total of 44 points.”

The title of best performance went to the national team player, Saif Thabet, after he finished the 18-hole track of the Abu Dhabi club with 72 strokes, before the “A” section award, specified between “zero to 14 handicap”, went to Hamid Al-Suwaidi by achieving 36 points, and Saleh Al-Amiri crowned in the “B” division competitions between “14 to 24 handicap” by scoring 37 points.

The stars of the national team continued their brilliance, with Alia Al Emadi winning the women's category with 33 points, and Rashid Al Jasmi, with a score of 46 points, crowned the junior category title.

In the accompanying refresher tournaments, Sultan Al Jasmi’s title of “longest kick” went to, before the national team player Saif Thabet won the “closest ball to the hole” award.

During the "December round", competitions were organized for graduates of the National Golf Association program to discover emerging talents, and were held on the "three stroke rate" drilling track, with nine players competing for its title, before being crowned by Mohammed Thabet.
