Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were exactly the same before today's F1 finish in Abu Dhabi.

Since 24-year-old Verstappen had to start in pole position, it was possibly a small advantage for him.

103rd victory

But after an impressive start, combined with a worse start by Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton took a solid lead immediately.

And he seemed to keep it all the way into goal.

But it became more dramatic than it had long been.

Jumbon Nicholas Latifi crashed with five laps left, which made it a restart.

Max Verstappen then had to start right behind Hamilton, and had brand new tires because he had just made a depot stop.

Hamilton's great lead thus disappeared.

And about halfway into the final lap, Verstappen went around Hamilton, thus ensuring that Hamilton continues to share the record with Michael Schumacher, who has seven World Cup titles.
