Kristoffer Jakobsen has been waiting a long time for the big hit.

And it came directly in the season's first slalom competition when he finished second and took the first podium of his career in the World Cup.

Jakobsen who has been as the best six in the World Cup before.

Jakobsen was split sixth after the first run together with the Croatian Filip Zubcic.

But Jakobsen all went into the second run, and was 17 hundredths ahead of Zubcic already at the first intermediate time.

He gradually extended his lead and was 45 percent ahead of the Croatian at the finish line.

After some drama, he held the lead until the last skier.

Among other things, the Italian Alex Vinatzer was disqualified after missing the last gate.

But against the leader of the competition Clement Noel he did not have much to oppose.

Noel was determined and won in the end with 1.40 ahead of Jakobsen.

But still a great success for Jakobsen.
