Malmö has been having a hard time lately, and had before Wednesday's victory against Örebro lost six straight games.

Tonight, at home against Luleå, came the second straight victory.

Engsrand acknowledged

Despite Luleå, who had won six of the last seven matches, taking the lead after eight minutes, it was Malmö who left the match with the victory.

Eric Engstrand equalized just over halfway into the first period, which turned out to be the last goal in regular time.

Omark put the first penalty

After a goalless extra time, the match went to a penalty shootout.

Linus Omark and Ponthus Westerholm set the penalties in the first round, before Malmö's goalkeeper Daniel Marmenlind then saved Linus Fröberg's penalty.

When Johan Olofsson then put Malmö's next penalty, Konstantin Komarek had to put Luleå's last penalty.

But he did not.

Komarek faked Marmenlind on the ice and looked to be able to lift the equalizer, but Marmenlind got his left leg up like a scorpion - and secured the extra points for the Skåne team.

- It's a bit fluid, but nice when it works, Marmenlind says to C More, and then answers, speaking of the scorpion link:

- You're a scorpion.

Born in November, of course.

"Should be higher up"

The victory was thus Malmö's second in a row.

- Now we play at the level we should.

As we play today, we prove that we should be higher up in the table.
