Martina Aronsson has previously been the national captain of the swimming junior and youth national teams.

She also has a background as operations manager for Stockholmsklubben Spårvägen SF.

- I am pleasantly surprised that Martina chose to accept this position.

It was super fun, says SVT Sports expert Lars Frölander.

- She has been swimming all her life.

She has been active for many years.

She went over and became a coach and leader and has good and sensible values and I know she has many fantastic ideas about how she wants to change Swedish swimming.

It can be very positive.

The expert also highlights Aronsson's great commitment.

According to him, it can be a great key to success.

"Extremely strong leader"

How can this recruitment change Swedish swimming?

- It is always difficult to say how the national team changes.

But the league captain's role is not just to pick out the best swimmers, there is so much more.

There is more structure around how you set up the season, camps, qualifying times and the pieces that can affect the national team swimmers.

For the very best swimmers, I do not think it affects purely individually, but more for Sweden as a whole and how clubs and national teams can work together.

What can the challenges be?

- It depends on what she wants to change.

Much has long been the same in the union.

It is a challenge to change an organization and how the union has functioned, if that is what she wants to do.

- I see her as an extremely strong leader.

She has the potential to become one of our best league captains we've had.
