Naoki Yuasa, a ski alpine skier who participated in three Olympic games, has announced on SNS that he will retire from active duty this season.

This is what Yuasa revealed on his Facebook page, saying, "This season is my last active life. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the people who have slid me so far." I have announced that I will retire from active duty as far as I can.

Yuasa is 38 years old from Sapporo.

With his aggressive skiing, he finished 7th in the men's turn of the Torino Olympics, and together with Kentaro Minagawa, who finished 4th, won the Olympic ski alpine for the first time in 50 years.

So far, he has participated in three Olympic Games, including the Turin Games.

In addition, he was leading the Japanese alpine world by finishing 3rd in the 2012 World Cup and standing on the podium, but for the past few years he has been suffering from an injury to his left knee, and he has undergone surgery to insert an artificial joint. As a result, he was not selected as a World Cup member this season when the Beijing tournament will be held.
