Rennes does not intend to let it go.
After the announcement by Spurs of the postponement of the Europa League Conference meeting between Tottenham - affected by several cases of Covid - and the club, the latter was keen to provide details via press release on this "unilateral decision which has not been not confirmed by UEFA ”.
"The match not being officially canceled by UEFA, Stade Rennais maintained its decision to play", evoking "a lack of fair play all the more flagrant as Tottenham had confirmed by email that the match was to be held at the start afternoon before warning the Rennes team of his intention not to play just after their landing ”.
Heavy atmosphere
Finding a postponement date will be extremely complicated anyway, with Tottenham having six domestic games on their schedule by December 28.
In the middle of the afternoon, the press conference of coach Antonio Conte took place in a heavy atmosphere.
“Every day, there are people with Covid who were not positive the day before,” he lamented, taking on dramatic accents: “the situation is serious.
There is a big focus of infection (…) It is obvious that now we are a little afraid because we do not know what will happen ”.
UEFA regulations normally state that one of the two teams must have fewer than 13 able-bodied players, or no goalkeeper, to obtain a possible postponement.
