The former national soccer player and his Dutch team lost 3-0 (0-1) at Real Sociedad San Sebastian and slipped to third place in Group B. Eindhoven missed the group stage of the Champions League in the play-offs.

For the team of the former Leverkusen trainer Roger Schmidt, it will continue in the Conference League in the new year.

The Spanish international Mikel Oyarzabal (43rd, 62nd) decided the game with a double, the ex-Leipzig Alexander Sörloth (90th + 2) scored the final score.
