Regarding the new coach of the Japanese national football team aiming for the 2024 Paris Olympics, it is related to the fact that the technical committee in charge of strengthening at the Japan Football Association has decided to recommend J1 and former coach of Kashima Antlers, Go Oiwa. I found out by interviewing people.

It is expected to be officially decided at the board meeting held on the 16th of this month.

The soccer boy was headed by Hajime Moriyasu, who also served as an age-restricted representative at the Tokyo Olympics, which was played by a team under the age of 24, aiming for a gold medal, but lost to Spain in the semifinals and Mexico in the third place playoff. I lost to and ended up in the best four.

According to the people concerned, the technical committee, which is in charge of strengthening the representative of the Japan Football Association for the new coach of the team aiming for the next Paris tournament, is the former coach of Kashima Antlers and directs the Japanese national team under the age of 18. It means that he has decided to recommend Mr. Go Oiwa.

Mr. Oiwa is 49 years old from Shizuoka prefecture.

During his active career, he played for Kashima Antlers as a defender and has participated in three games as a representative of Japan.

After retiring from active duty, he led J1 Kashima Antlers from the middle of the 2017 season and won the ACL = Asian Champions League for the first time in club history in 2018.

Mr. Oiwa's appointment as manager will be officially decided if approved by the board of directors of the Japan Football Association to be held on the 16th of this month.
