The German Leipzig team snatched the ticket to participate in the European Football Championship by defeating its guest, Manchester City, 2-1, today, Tuesday, in the last sixth round of the first group matches of the European Champions League.

In the other match in the same group, Paris Saint-Germain swept its guest, Club Brugge, 4-1, thanks to the brilliance of its two stars, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, who scored the quartet.

Leipzig finished the group stage of the Champions League in third place with seven points, to move to participate in the European League, while Club Brugge fell to the bottom of the standings with four points to bid farewell to the continental championship.

Despite the defeat, Manchester City maintained the top spot in Group A with 12 points, and Saint-Germain finished second with 11 points.

At the Red Bull Arena, the first half ended with RB Leipzig with a goal scored by Hungarian Dominic Szoboszlai in the 24th minute.

In the second half, Portuguese Andre Silva scored the second goal for Leipzig, but after only five minutes, Algerian Riyad Mahrez responded with a goal for City.

City ended the match with 10 men to send off Kyle Walker in the 82nd minute.

Messi and Mbappe shine with Paris Saint-Germain

And at the Parc des Princes, Saint-Germain scored a sweeping victory over Club Brugge, thanks to the brilliance of Mbappe and Messi, who was crowned last week with the Golden Ball as the best player in the world.

Mbappe advanced with two goals for Saint-Germain in the second and seventh minutes, then Messi scored the third goal in the 38th minute, and the Argentine flea returned and scored the second goal for him and the fourth for the hosts in the 76th minute from a penalty kick, while Mats Reets secured the only goal for Club Brugge in the 68th minute.
