In early November, the news came that horse jumping will be removed from the modern pentathlon after the Olympics in Paris 2024. The Swedish federation is critical of the decision and has previously written an open letter to UIPM, the international federation in modern pentathlon, protesting against the decision-making approach and expresses concern that the modern pentathlon will disappear completely from the Olympic program.

The Swedish Confederation has now also taken further measures against UIPM's decision.

- We have appealed to Cas, the sport's highest arbitration board, and there we have not received any response yet, says the association's chairman Bengt Jönsson to SVT Sport.

- We have in Sweden for a long time worked for the pentathlon to develop and that riding should of course remain, but that you should work with good horse keeping and train both riders and leaders and so on in the riding moment to ensure that it will be good.

So it has been the Swedish line for a long time.

What horse jumping will be replaced with is still unclear.

- We know nothing about it yet and our position is that the riding should remain, but that these measures are taken to ensure that it works in a good way, Jönsson concludes.
