Eliminated from the group stage in Innsbruck at the end of November, the French Davis Cup team knows its fate for the play-off which will take place next March.
It will host Ecuador, in a city that remains to be defined, according to the draw made this Sunday just before the final of the 2021 edition between Russia and Croatia.
Dams with a taste of the past
The final phase of the 2022 edition will bring together 16 nations.
Twelve countries will qualify through these play-offs, which will take place in the historical format of the Davis Cup (five matches including a double in one of the countries), except that the matches will be played in two winning sets.
Four countries have qualified directly for the 2022 finals: this year's finalists, Russia and Croatia, as well as two guests announced on Sunday: Great Britain and Serbia.
