The striker of the first national football team, Ali Mabkhout, continued his humble appearance with Al-Abyad recently, and failed to score for the second consecutive match in the Arab Cup against Mauritania, which was held the day before yesterday, in which Al-Abyad won with a goal without a response.

Mabkhout is going through a stage of contention with the net, whether at the level of the national team or his Al-Jazira team, as he scored weak numbers compared to his brilliant scoring record since his appearance on the football scene in the 2008-2009 season.

The Al-Abyad striker scored only three goals in the six matches he played with the national team in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

According to the numbers and statistics, Ali Mabkhout had 19 attempts to score during the last eight matches of Al-Abyad, whether in the World Cup qualifiers or the Arab Cup, during which he scored three goals, while his weakest appearance was during the matches of Iran and South Korea in the World Cup qualifiers, which did not He gets no chance at all.

During the Syrian match in the Arab Cup, the player had two chances to score, but he did not take advantage of them as required. He also had three chances against Mauritania, which he did not score also.

Ali Mabkhout’s scoring decline did not stop at the international level only, but also extended to the local level, as he scored only four goals out of the 10 matches he played with his team in the ADNOC Professional League, down 33% from that stage last season, during which he scored Six goals, before ending the season as the top scorer in the competition with 25 goals.

The football analyst, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, explained the decline in Ali Mabkhout’s scoring level, due to the psychological and nervous pressures that the player is experiencing as a result of his sense of criticism in the wake of any negative result for Al-Abyad at the international level.

Al-Awadi told "Emirates Today": "Mabkhout is experiencing a state of psychological pressure that affects his mental and muscular focus, which caused him to waste the opportunity that cannot be wasted by an attacker of the size and value of this player."

He added, "In my personal opinion, the coach of the national team, Marvik, bears a large part of the situation in which the Al-Jazira striker is living, for his insistence on his participation alone in the front line, although all competitors know very well that Al-Abyad's offensive strength lies in the danger of Ali Mabkhout, which exposes him to severe supervision, And the solution to Mabkhout’s return to his well-known level is to play alongside another striker.”

He pointed out: "It would be a mistake if the call was answered to keep Ali Mabkhout on the bench, and pay Tigali mainly, because Tigali will be subjected to these same pressures, which may make us lose the attackers together."

Al-Awadi added, “Marvik must abandon his stubbornness, and play Mabkhout alongside Tigali, and then the strength of the Al-Abyad attack will appear, as was the case for Lambkhout when he was playing alongside Ahmed Khalil in Al-Munthab. He needs Tigali and Ali Mabkhout together on the pitch.”
