National team manager Anders Byström has been clear that Kalla must show form to take a place in the Swedish Olympic team to Beijing.

But the experienced length profile has not had the season start she had hoped for and in the fifth World Cup race for the season, she was over a minute behind winner Frida Karlsson.

- Slowly, I did not have the recovery I expected.

I could not bear to go with Fossesholm on the second lap when we passed at the same time, says Kalla and continues:

- I hoped that the days at home would create a surplus.

Hoped that what happened in Ruka was a coincidence.

I need more distance to digest this.

Kalla wants the body to respond better in the future.

- I'm not where I want to be, physically, says the 34-year-old, who hopes to run tomorrow's relay.

- If I get selected I will drive, there are eight places.
