Milan temporarily topped the Italian Football League standings, while Inter Milan, the defending champion, moved to second place after two wins in the 16th round of the Calcio.

Milan defeated its guest Salernitana 2-0, while Inter Milan settled one of the tops of the competition by defeating its host Roma 3-0.

And at the San Siro stadium, Milan won the victory since the first half, as Ivorian Frank Kessie advanced with a goal in the fifth minute, then the Belgian Alexis Salemaikers added the second goal in the 18th minute.

The win raised Milan's lead to 38 points, one point ahead of second-placed Inter Milan, and Salernitana remained in last place with 8 points.

Inter Milan defeats Roma

At the Olympic Stadium, Inter Milan won over Roma since the first half, during which they scored their three goals.

Turkish Haken Calhanoglu opened the goals for Inter Milan in the 15th minute, then Bosnian Edin Dzeko added the second goal in the 24th minute, and Dutchman Denzel Dumfries scored the third goal in the 39th minute.

The win raised Inter Milan's balance to 37 points in second place, and Roma's balance stopped at 25 points in fifth place.
