Daniëlle van de Donk will not play for at least four months due to a muscle tear, her club Olympique Lyon announced on Thursday.

The midfielder sustained the injury during the Orange Women's World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic last Saturday.

Thirty-year-old Van de Donk has torn her anterior shin muscle from her right leg.

The injury was diagnosed after the game against the Czech Republic (2-2).

The Dutchman was substituted in the 73rd minute, after she was still responsible for the 1-1 just after the break.

Van de Donk already had surgery in the Netherlands on Tuesday and then started rehabilitation.

According to Olympique Lyon, Van de Donk will no longer be in action before April next year.
