At this summer's Tokyo Olympics, Elaine Thompson-Herah ran 200 meters in 21.53 seconds - a time that is the second best in history - and picked up gold in the distance.

Three days earlier, the Jamaican super sprinter had taken a gold in the 100 meters with a time of 10.61.

A record that also meant an Olympic record.

With the medals, Thompson-Herah became the first female athlete to take double sprint gold in two straight Olympics, when she also won the distances in 2016.

The 29-year-old has now been named the female athlete of the year in the world.

- I have more to give.

I was very close to the world record and anything is possible.

No shoes should be hung up yet, she says.

Other finalists were Sifan Hassan, The Netherlands, Faith Kipyegon, Kenya, Sydney McLaughlin, USA, and Yulimar Rojas, Venezuela.
