No players from Malmö and 16 debutants.

It was Janne Andersson's message before the January tour that came at Wednesday's press conference.

24 players will travel to the Algarve, Portugal.

- There are many new players and this squad feels exciting based on the fact that it is a good mix, says Janne Andersson.

Opens for Elanga

Several clubs have said no to releasing players to the national team in January despite the leagues having a break.

Among others, Danish FC Copenhagen, Central Jutland, Aarhus and North Zealand, Russian Rostov and Malmö FF.

Someone who is also missing from the squad is Manchester United's Anthony Elanga - as Janne still has not been given a thumbs up by the English big club.

- We have asked the question to Manchester United, who have not been able to give information yet, says the league captain.

He continues:

- If we had Anthony Elanga, it would be great fun, says Andersson.

During the tour, so far only Finland is ready as Sweden's opponent.

Who the other opponent will be is still unclear.
