Today, Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson presented her new government in the Riksdag.

It was initially unclear which of the new ministers would be given responsibility for sports issues

A moment later, it became clear that it is Anders Ygeman (S) who, in addition to integration and Minister of Migration, will also be Minister of Sports.

Ygeman has previously been Minister of the Interior and since 2019 he has been Minister of Digitalisation.

In the past, it has usually been the Minister of Culture who has also taken care of sports issues.

Ygeman succeeds Amanda Lind, who was previously Minister of Culture and Democracy with responsibility for sports issues.

- Sport is Sweden's largest popular movement.

Sport gives pride and strengthens the health of the people.

And sport creates cohesion and understanding more than perhaps any other part of society, across all borders, Ygeman said at the new government's press conference.
