The world number one defeated Timo Boll's conqueror Truls Möregardh from Sweden with 4: 0 (11: 6, 11: 9, 11: 7, 11: 8).
Defending champion and Olympic champion Ma Long was not at the start.
Chinese women win
For women, the title also went to China.
Wang Manyu prevailed against her doubles partner Sun Yingsha (China) with 4: 2 (11:13, 11: 7, 6:11, 11: 6, 11: 8, 17:15) and won the title for the first time.
The two Chinese women had previously won the women's doubles.
Manyu / Yingsha, who eliminated European champions Petrissa Solja and Shan Xiaona in the round of 16, defeated Hina Hayata / Mima Ito from Japan 3-0 (11: 9, 11: 7, 11: 8).
For the 17th time in a row, the world championship duo came from China.
The two Bundesliga professionals Karlsson (Borussia Düsseldorf) and Falck (Werder Bremen) had eliminated the two Chinese top doubles on the way to the final.
As the best German double, the German champions Benedikt Duda / Dang Qiu (Bergneustadt / Düsseldorf) were eliminated in the quarter-finals.
