Qatar kicks off the Arab Cup with a tough victory over Bahrain

The Qatari national team started its campaign in the Arab Cup Football Championship by defeating Bahrain 1-0 today, in the first round of the first group of the tournament, which it is hosting on its soil and among its fans.

Abdulaziz Hatem scored the only goal of the match for the Qatari team in the 69th minute.

The Qatari team scored its first three points in the tournament to lead the group, after Oman and Iraq tied 1-1 earlier today, while the Bahraini team ranked last without a balance of points.

In the second round, the Qatari team will play its Omani counterpart next Friday, with the Bahraini team facing its Iraqi counterpart on the same day.

Qatar will host the tournament a year before hosting the 2022 World Cup, and the competitions that started today will continue until December 18
