Amateur clubs that still participate in the KNVB Cup will be allowed to train in the evenings in the coming weeks.

In total, eight amateur teams will make their appearance in the second round of the cup tournament on December 14, 15 and 16.

Amateur athletes are not allowed to train after 5 p.m. until at least December 19.

It was one of the measures that the outgoing cabinet took last Friday to reduce the number of corona infections and hospital admissions.

"Participants in top sports competitions, which include the KNVB Cup, can continue to train in the evenings in the evenings with the first selection in the coming weeks, despite the announced evening lockdown until December 18, which the cabinet announced last Friday," the KNVB said.

It concerns the amateurs of Gemert, Spakenburg, Achilles Veen, DVS'33, Excelsior Maassluis, Harkemase Boys, Barendrecht and De Treffers.

Barendrecht awaits an away match against Ajax, the title holder in the cup tournament.

It is already certain that at least one amateur club will qualify for the third round of the KNVB Cup.

Achilles Veen and DVS'33 will compete against each other on Tuesday 14 December.
