In the sprint premiere in Gällivare, Jonna Sundling fell and injured her left hand.

She was then rushed to hospital, but the first X-ray did not show any fracture.

Last week, the national team announced that Sundling had sustained a ligament injury, which resulted in a plastered hand.

- I have a plastered hand and will have it for a preliminary four weeks.

Then we get to evaluate and see how the situation is, says Sundling in Vinterstudion.

After two weeks with plaster, Sundling must be examined and then plastered for another two weeks.

Only after that can it be decided how long she will be away from competition.

- I can train very well with alternative training and enjoy it.

Right now I mostly train indoors, I run, roller ski on ropes and strength train.

It is also possible to train outdoors, but then I only go with a pole.

I do not load my hand with anything so I do not feel it.

Right now I am very happy to be able to train at all, she says.

Hoping for the Olympics

This weekend, the World Cup began in Ruka, where Sundling was missing.

- It feels very sad not to be in place, but it is just to accept the situation and make the best of the situation, says Sundling.

Sundling, who won double World Cup gold in Oberstdorf earlier this year, has previously said that she draws inspiration from Sarah Sjöström who recovered from her elbow injury and took silver in the Tokyo Olympics.

In the Winter Studio, she says she believes in a comeback this season - in time before the Olympics.

- It is clear that this is not the start I wanted.

Especially not in an Olympic season.

The timing could have been incredibly much worse.

I hope and believe that I will be able to be back this season and before the Olympics.
