Hammarby registered themselves after it was discovered that Rimgård played for the club in three matches, even though he was still registered for Broberg.

- It was an administrative error on our part, said club manager Calle Malm to Dagens Nyheter.

The competition committee has now decided that the Stockholm club will be fined SEK 25,000, the highest fine.

Malm talks about the decision on the club's website:

“Since the moment we discovered our own mistake, we have been very bothered.

We know where our routines broke and can only apologize - to our supporters, to the sport in general and not least to our own players and leaders. "

Anna-Karin Larsson, competition manager at the Swedish Bandy Association, says that it is both unusual and serious with this type of shortcoming in an elite league club.

"It has been difficult to find out what has happened based on the competition regulations and therefore the competition committee has needed extra time to come to the right conclusion," she says in a press release.

But it is only Västerås, who met Hammarby in the third round of the elite series, who are awarded a 5-0 victory, despite the fact that Rimgård also played in the previous two against Sandviken (6-7) and Tellus (5-2).

Tellus filed a protest after Hammarby's miss became known, but it was received too late according to the competition rules.
