The 22-year-old star got the chance in the sprint in Finnish Ruka - and made it all the way to the final.

There she came last after a tactical miss.

Frida Karlsson was disappointed after the race.

- It was a heavenly miss that I just want undone, she said.

But there will be no final revenge in Lillehammer on Friday.

There, Frida Karlsson may instead only focus on her specialty: the distance races.

- We have judged that she got a big load this weekend with three races, so we think that is enough with what is on Saturday and Sunday in Lillehammer.

It will be a lot too, says Anders Byström.

In Ruka, Karlsson followed up the sprint race by winning 10 kilometers and coming second in the hunt start.

Focus forward towards the Olympics

According to Byström, it has been decided before that Karlsson will not run the sprint in Lillehammer.

- It was a good opportunity she got in Ruka to try that and she did very well too.

But we must look at the total for her as well, he says.

Above all, the focus is on topping the form for the Olympics in Beijing in February.

- We have to see which road is the smartest there, how hard you have to compete and train.

It's always that trade-off.

Then you should be at altitude in Davos (in the World Cup 11-12 December), then you should not be too tired when you get there, Byström says.

But after all, there will probably be more sprint races for Frida Karlsson this winter.

- For example, if it is a Tour de Ski, there are many sprints there to run, says Byström.
