The Abu Dhabi Sports Council has completed its organizational preparations for the Spartan World Championship, which will be hosted in Abu Dhabi in the Liwa Desert, "Moreeb Hill" in the Al Dhafra region, from December 2 to 5, in cooperation with Spartan International.

A press release said: "Liwa is preparing to receive the championship, which is expected to witness the participation of thousands and elite athletes from around the world, in addition to participants in community races for all ages."

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Aref Al-Awani, said in a press statement: “Hosting the World Spartan Championship is a new gain for Abu Dhabi, especially since the tournament is being held for the first time outside the United States of America, and also for the first time in the Middle East, which confirms the confidence of the sports community. International recognition of the UAE’s capabilities and the successes it has achieved over many years have earned it a global reputation in various fields.

He pointed out that the tournament will include three categories: the elite, the teams, and a tournament dedicated to Spartan juniors, in addition to the community tournaments that will be held on the sidelines of the global event.
