Sweden started the Davis Cup by defeating Canada and then lost to Kazakhstan.

That is a result that is enough to get to the quarterfinals.

Once there, they will face either Spain or the Russian team.

Who will be the best group runners-up is decided by match and set difference and there Sweden was good enough to move on.

- I still think we made a good group game.

There are many bright spots but right now I am of course disappointed, this match would have been incredibly nice to win, said national team captain Robin Söderling after the loss against Kazakhstan.

Sweden has so far played in Madrid and will continue to do so in the quarterfinals and if they go on from there.

The other quarter finals are played in Turin and Innsbruck.

The Swedish team consists of the brothers Elias and Mikael Ymer and the double couple André Göransson and Robert Lindstedt.
