Palmeiras won the Copa Libertadores on Saturday by beating Flamengo 2-1 after extra time.

Afterwards, there was also much discussion about the bizarre schwalbe of match winner Deyverson.

The Brazilian got into a fight with an opponent of Flamengo at the end of extra time, after which referee Néstor Pitana intervened.

The referee gave Deyverson a friendly pat on the back, after which the attacker went theatrically to the ground.

Thirty-year-old Deyverson has a reputation when it comes to schwalbes.

As a Getafe player, his behavior caused the blood under the nails of Ajax players and fans in February 2020 during a double Europa League confrontation.

Remarkably enough, Deyverson did not receive a yellow card for his play.

He was even named

man of the match

Deyverson bursts into tears at press conference

At the start of extra time, Deyverson had made the decisive 2-1, helping his side to the Copa Libertadores, the South American equivalent of the Champions League, for the second year in a row and the third time in club history.

At the press conference after the final, Deyverson burst into tears.

The attacker said he felt a lot of pressure because of the criticism he received on his game via social media.

He has only scored four goals this season.

"If we win we are the very best and if we lose we are very bad. If we would have lost again today everyone would have said the coach is crazy," said Deyverson.

"We received a lot of criticism this season, but everyone has to understand that there is a person in the shirt. We have families who sympathize with us. People often say things on social media that hurt, a lot of pain," the attacker sobbed.

Deyverson was honored as man of the match after the final of the Copa Libertadores.
