Manchester City survives a blizzard and beats West Ham

Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan scored during a snowstorm in the first half, and substitute Fernandinho added a late goal in a 2-1 win over West Ham United in the English Premier League on Sunday.

With heavy snowfall in the first half, City advanced with a goal when Riyad Mahrez sent a cross from the right side, and Gundogan met it with one touch into the goal in the 33rd minute.

The start of the second half was delayed a little because of the workers' attempt to remove the snow from the pitch, but City waited until the 90th minute before scoring again when Gabriel Jesus passed a ground ball, which Fernandinho met with a powerful shot three minutes after his participation.

Manuel Lanzini reduced the difference with a superb shot in stoppage time, but City won to regain second place with 29 points, the same balance of leaders Chelsea, who face Manchester United today.

West Ham remained in fourth place with 23 points.
