An icy shot like the -11 degrees of Ostersund, at least that was needed to get a first World Cup podium this season.

Anaïs Chevalier, best Frenchwoman last year with four podiums and a top 10 in the World Cup, finished second in the first sprint of the winter (+11 "on the winner Hanna Oeberg) thanks to a 10/10 on the no shooting.

The race was generally marked by a French improvement after the disappointing individual race the day before.

Apart from Julia Simon, once again missed his shot (7/10), the Blue were able to react.

Justine Braisaz slipped into the top 10 (6th) with a 9/10 shooting.

Same score for Anaïs Bescond, who on the other hand finished further because of a slightly slower skiing time.

We will know in two weeks, in Hochfilzen, if these are the beginnings of a good season or a flash in the pan for French biathletes.
