Former sumo wrestler Chiyotori has retired from active duty and will be named the elderly Sanoyama.

Chiyotori in Kokonoe-beya is 29 years old from Shibushi City, Kagoshima Prefecture.

We stepped on the first ring in the summer of 2008, raised the ranking with a powerful push, and made a new start in the summer of 2013.

In the summer of 2014, I was promoted to San'yaku for the first time as Koyui.

The new San'yaku role of a sumo wrestler from Kagoshima prefecture was the first in 22 years since Kyokudozan in the fall of 1992.

In addition, his older brother Chiyomaru was promoted to Makuuchi, and both brothers were active as Makuuchi wrestlers.

After that, Chiyotori was unable to return to the Makuuchi at the end of the first place in 2017 due to injuries, etc., and now the place, which was the 12th piece under the Makushita in the east, had a record of 1 win and 6 losses.

The Japan Sumo Association announced at its board meeting on the 27th that it had approved the retirement of Chiyotori and the name of the elderly Sanoyama.

Chiyotori is planning to hold a retirement press conference on the 28th.
