The first round of the Arab Singles Championship for men and women, organized by the Chess Federation in cooperation with the Arab Federation, kicked off yesterday, at the Occidental Al Jaddaf Hotel in Dubai, with a record participation of 66 players representing 19 Arab countries competing until the fourth of next December for the title of the championship.

The tour was opened by Dr. Sarhan Hassan Al-Muaini, in the presence of a number of officials and guests of the tournament.
