At Roazhon Park,

Stade Rennais will have the right to its European spring without even going through the jump-off box.

To qualify directly for the round of 16 of the Europa League Conference, the Bretons had to do better than Tottenham.

After leading the whole game, Bruno Genesio's men could not do better than a draw this Thursday evening against Vitesse Arnhem (3-3).

A sharing of points that could have left a lot of regrets (3-3).

But to everyone's surprise, Tottenham drank the cup on the ground of the modest Slovenes of Mura, thus securing the first place of the group at Stade Rennais.

Building on their strong performance in the league, Bruno Genesio's players quickly packed the match thanks to the inevitable Gaëtan Laborde.

Served by Terrier, the Rennes striker, after a hook to eliminate his defender, quickly found the flaw with a powerful cross strike from the left (8th).

Despite a few good sequences, the first half was then less controlled without the Arnhem players being particularly dangerous.

Just before half-time, Laborde, again, delighted the audience at Roazhon Park.

On a center of Meling, the attacker cleaned the window of poor goalkeeper Houwen with a flat right foot (39th).

On fire, Laborde slams a hat-trick

In the process, the Bretons were not far from killing the match with a triple opportunity, Tait then Laborde and Majer stumbling on a heroic defense of Arnhem. Very close to KO, the Arnhem players still managed to close the gap just before the break, Huisman beating Gomis with a nice cross shot from the right (43rd). Back from the locker room, Alfred Gomis first saved the furniture by flying off on a volley of Buitink before Laborde continued his festival by offering himself a hat-trick (69th).

We thought then that the hard part was done.

But Buitink quickly reduced the gap (75th) before Openda came to extinguish Roazhon Park in stoppage time (91st).

But fortunately in Slovenia, the little thumb Mura bit into the ogre Tottenham at the very end of the game.

Enough to delight the people of Rennes who will be traveling to London in two weeks as tourists.
