As a result, the Netherlands and Finland are relegated from the highest level.

The Netherlands became champion of the B-division in 2016 and has played at the highest level ever since.

Twice a sixth place was the best performance at European Championships.

On Thursday, the team of national coach Shari Leibbrandt will play the last group match against Denmark, in which nothing is at stake.

After that, the focus will be on the Olympic qualifying tournament from 11 to 19 December in Leeuwarden.

There are three tickets to be distributed for the Games in Beijing.

The Netherlands will compete against Norway, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Japan and South Korea.
