More than 90,000 tickets have been sold for the international horse show in Friends arena Thursday to Sunday.

That means a new audience record.

But then there are plenty of reasons, for sports enthusiasts in general and friends of equestrian sports in particular, to give a few days to world-class jumping and dressage.

And not least, the opportunity awaits to show their appreciation for the achievement in the jump-off against the USA in Tokyo.

On Thursday evening, the gold trio Baryard Johnsson, Peder Fredricson, Henrik von Eckermann and the reserve Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and the national team captain Henrik Ankarcrona pay tribute.

"Missed the Swedish audience"

- I think we will feel the audience that was not in the stands in Tokyo here.

It will be magical.

We have missed the Swedish audience, says Baryard Johnsson.

The gold trio will not get anything for free in the competitions that are topped with the GP jumping on Sunday afternoon.

Sports director Baryard Johnsson has attracted other world stars to Solna, such as the British Ben Maher and Scott Brash, the Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and the American Jessica Springsteen.

- I thought that Malin and I were friends and that she would fix a less strong starting field, but I got it.

We have to work hard to stay far ahead in the results list, says world setter Fredricson.

- So Ben is here?

Then the devil he will see.

I've given up on him a few times since the Olympics (Maher sniffed Fredricson at the individual gold) and I hope to be able to do it again.

Very many tributes

TT: Do you notice in the relationship with your equestrian colleagues around the world that you blew up a barrier in Tokyo?

-

We have received an incredible number of tributes from very many people.

It is something you carry with you for the rest of your life, says Baryard Johnsson.

- An Olympic gold is so big.

You can win a big grand prize and after two months no one remembers it, says Fredricson.

TT: What do you remember most from the decision in Tokyo?

-

My clearest memory is when I am completely finished, drop out and will see the decision.

Or see and see.

It was mostly fear that we would not succeed.

I remember telling Henrik, who is in a panic, that we have at least silver.

Luckily, Peder was on the track and did not hear it, then he would probably have killed me, says Baryard Johnsson and laughs.

- Henrik shouts, I'm afraid it's going to disturb Peder.

Everything is so strange, so awful.

Empty and taken afterwards

Fredricson:

- What I remember is the area just before we rode onto the track.

These are both great memories and terrible memories.

- That feeling I had that it was a hundredths it was about, that so much can go wrong.

Now it's just great feelings but then, right after, I was completely empty and taken because it was a lot of different feelings.

Both are convinced that the gold has given Swedish jumping a boost.

- I also think that the next team that goes to the Olympics wants to be just as good.

Many who saw it on TV, as young people, are inspired.

With the Olympics, you reach out widely and we may have got many interested, says Fredricson.
