The Los Angeles Rams and the American football league NFL have now reached an agreement with the city of St. Louis after a lawsuit was filed after the team moved from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

This puts an end to a process lasting just over four and a half years.

The case would go to court on January 10.

NFL and Ram owner Stan Kroenke will now pay the city of St. Louis 790 million dollars, just over 7.2 billion, writes AP.

It is uncertain how much Kroenke will have to pay and how much will be paid by other NFL team owners.

"This historic agreement closes a long chapter for our region, securing hundreds of millions of dollars for our society and avoiding the uncertainty of a trial and appeal process," St. Louis Mayor Tishuara Jones wrote in a press release.

In the lawsuit, which was prepared by St.

Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority, they originally demanded one billion dollars, just over, 9.1 billion Swedish kronor.

It was claimed that the team's relocation caused the St. Louis region to lose millions of dollars in various revenues.
