Five players made small mistakes in the national team’s journey in the qualifiers for the decisive role qualifiers for the World Cup “Qatar 2022”, and led to Al-Abyad bleeding 10 important points in the past six rounds, in which Al-Abyad achieved only one victory at the expense of Lebanon with a clean goal, compared to three Draws with Lebanon in the first leg, Syria 1-1, Iraq 2-2, and two losses against Iran and South Korea, with the same result, 0-1.

Al-Abyad ranks third in Group A with six points, while the Iranian team leads the standings with 16, followed by South Korea with 14 points, and they are the closest to booking the two direct tickets that qualify for the finals, hoping that Al-Abyad will remain third until the end of the qualifiers to qualify for the playoffs.

The most prominent errors committed in the team’s squad were concentrated in five players, due to miscalculation, tactical pressure from the opponent team, or as a result of lack of experience, and recklessness in the tackles. They are: Shaheen Abdul Rahman, Abdullah Ramadan, Muhammad Al Attas, Ali Salmin, and goalkeeper Ali Khaseef.

For his part, the football analyst, Khaled Obaid, attributed the mistakes made by the national team players in a number of World Cup qualifiers, to the lack of focus and experience of some of them, and he told "Emirates Today": "There are players who lack experience, such as Muhammad Al-Attas, and Abdullah Ramadan, and these two examples of players need experience, to avoid such mistakes in important and big matches.”

He added: "Unfortunately, the mistakes we made were in important and influential areas on the field, and when the player loses his focus, even for a moment, the consequences are, as happened in the Syrian match, for example, when Shaheen Abdul Rahman did not deal in the required manner with the removal of the ball, to receive the national team's effects. The equalizing goal, and two points lost, were within reach.”

Khaled Obaid pleaded with Ali Khaseef for the mistake he made during the Iran match, stressing that "he was subjected to great pressure in many times of the match, in addition to the fact that the state of defense was not at its best."

He pointed out that "the mistakes of the players are not the basis for the team losing a large number of points during the first leg of the World Cup qualifiers, but the Dutch coach Marvik bears a greater part, for his lack of good reading of the matches and choosing the squad that suits each match."

He explained, "Mistakes can be corrected in matches, for example, if Al-Abyad won any match, from those in which errors occurred, we would not have talked about such matters now."
