Just over a month ago, Frölunda announced that the start of the women's team (2022-2023) has been brought forward and that Kim Martin Hasson will become sports director.

Now Frölunda and the former goalkeeper profile have made it clear who will lead the effort from the box: Former national team colleague Erika Holst.

Holst was team captain in Damkronorna for several years and was present when they took Olympic silver in Turin in 2006.

- It feels like a good mix to add what Kim and I have with us in our luggage, with the model and culture that exists in Frölunda today, says Holst and continues:

- They make a real investment.

They want to build a world-class business with many regional and local players where you train hard.

A business that is successful in the long run.

How do you see your role?

- Above all, I believe in building a strong team where all players are equally valuable, that you have different roles in the team and a strong leadership team.

All players and leaders should think that it is fantastic fun to come to the hall every day.

"Passionate about developing people"

After his playing career, Holst has, among other things, been an instructor at a hockey high school.

She has also had time for a stay at the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, where she was responsible for the development of women's and girls' hockey, and responsible for the junior national team.

Now, after four hockey-free years, she is back.

- Now I look at hockey in a completely different way and have a lot of discussions with Kim back and forth.

This is what I am passionate about - to train hockey players and above all to develop people and give young women the chance to dare to flourish and believe in themselves.

What does the long-term goal look like?

- The goal is to win Swedish Championship gold in a sold-out Scandinavium.

We'll see how long it takes.

We should not stress anything out and buy a team together, but build from the ground up.

- The first goal is to take us to SDHL as soon as possible.

The hope is to succeed the first season.
